Y is for yak! Help your toddler learn about the letter Y by making a fun yak handprint craft.
Materials
- Brown and white nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s palm.
- Press the brown palm print onto the paper
- Wash the paint off your child’s palm.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s hand.
- Press the brown handprint under and to the side of the palm print.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press two brown fingertip prints on top of the brown palm print.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Pour some white paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of white paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press two white fingertip prints into the center of the brown palm print.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint two brown pupils in the center of the white fingerprints.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “Y is for yak” in brown on the paper.
