H is for horse! Help your toddler learn about the letter H by making a fun horse handprint craft.
Materials
- Dark brown and light brown nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some dark brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of dark brown paint on your child’s hand.
- Press the dark brown handprint with the fingers open into the center of the paper.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some light brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of light brown paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press four light brown fingertip prints above the dark brown handprint and one light brown fingertip print at the tip of each dark brown fingerprint. Reapply the paint as needed.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of light brown paint on your child’s finger.
- Press the light brown fingerprint extending from the dark brown handprint opposite the thumbprint.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint a light brown eye in the center of the dark brown thumbprint.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “H is for horse” in light brown on the paper.
