W is for walrus! Help your toddler learn about the letter W by making a fun walrus handprint craft.
Materials
- Orange, brown, and white nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s hand.
- Press a handprint into the center of the paper with the fingers pointing down.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press four brown fingertip prints across the palm of the handprint. Reapply the paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Pour some white paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of white paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press two white fingertip prints above the brown fingertip prints. Reapply the paint as needed.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of white paint on your child’s finger.
- Press two white fingerprints below the brown fingertip prints. Reapply the paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint two brown pupils in the center of the white fingertip prints.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “W is for walrus” in brown on the paper.
