O is for octopus! Help your toddler learn about the letter O by making a fun octopus handprint craft.
Materials
- Orange and blue nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s right hand excluding the thumb.
- Press the thumb-less handprint onto the left center of the paper with the fingers pointing down.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s left hand excluding the thumb.
- Press the thumb-less handprint onto the right center of the paper with the fingers pointing down. The palm of the second handprint should slightly overlap the palm of the first.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some blue paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of blue paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press blue fingerprints around the pink handprint. Reapply the blue paint as needed.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “O is for octopus” in orange on the paper.
