Z Is for Zebra Handprint Craft

Z is for zebra! Help your toddler learn about the letter Z by making a fun zebra handprint craft.

Materials

  • Black and white nontoxic paint
  • Blank colored paper
  • Paper plate or scrap cardboard
  • Cotton ball
  • Cotton swab or paintbrush

Instructions

  1. Pour some white paint onto the cardboard.
  2. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of white paint on your child’s hand.
  3. Press the white handprint into the center of the paper.
  4. Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
  5. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of white paint on your child’s finger.
  6. Press the white fingerprint onto the handprint opposite the thumb.
  7. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  8. Pour some black paint onto the cardboard.
  9. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of black paint on your child’s finger and fingertip.
  10. Press black stripes on the white handprint and fingerprint.
  11. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  12. Use a paintbrush to paint a black eye in the center of the white fingerprint.
  13. Use a paintbrush to paint “Z is for zebra” in white on the paper.
