I must admit that, once the Fourth of July comes and goes, I am so over summer. As soon as I put my red, white, and blue away, I begin planning for the upcoming fall and Christmas seasons. I am absolutely obsessed with making wreaths to hang around my home. While at a thrift shop recently, I picked up a great little roll of red and green plaid wire-edge ribbon. Pulling some additional red, green, and silver mesh and ribbon from my collection, I crafted myself a pretty little holiday wreath that I plan to hang up during Christmastime.
Materials
- Wire wreath
- Red deco mesh
- Red and green plaid wire-edge ribbon
- Green, silver, and red mesh ribbon
- Green, silver, and red mesh tube ribbon
- Red, green, and white pipe cleaners
- Christmas ribbon
- Tinsel candy canes
- Scissors
Instructions
- Cut the pipe cleaners into 2-inch pieces.
- Form a loop at one end of the red deco mesh roll.
- Secure the loop to the wire wreath with a red pipe cleaner.
- Continue securing loops around the outside and inside edge of the wreath. Alternate between the outside and inside.
- Repeat with the plaid ribbon and green, silver, and red mesh ribbon.
- Fluff up the loops.
- Cut the mesh tube ribbon into 12-inch pieces.
- Gather three pieces of mesh tube together and secure in the middle with a piece of pipe cleaner.
- Secure the bundles of mesh tube around the wreath.
- Tie a piece of Christmas ribbon to the back of the wreath for a hanger.
- Secure the tinsel candy canes to the wreath with pieces of pipe cleaner.
- Display the deco mesh, ribbon, and mesh tube Christmas wreath.
