Recycled Container Jack o’ Lantern Craft

Recycled Container Jack o' Lantern Craft

My daughter and I love Halloween and pumpkins! However, carving knives and young children do not mix. Thus, last year for our homeschool preschool lesson on the holiday, she and I made Jack o’ lanterns using recycled containers and glow sticks.

Materials

  • Clean food and beverage containers
  • Black paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Glow sticks

Directions

  1. Clean and remove any labels from the containers.
  2. Cut the black paper into Jack o’ lantern face shapes.
  3. Glue the faces onto the containers.
  4. Place a glow stick in each container on Halloween.
