Pony Bead Indian Corn Craft

Pony Bead Indian Corn Craft

From the beginning of fall on September 1 through Thanksgiving, I decorate my home with autumn-themed decorations. I love making crafts with my two young children to place around my house. For a recent homeschool activity, my kiddos and I made Indian corn using pipe cleaners and pony beads. Threading the small beads on the ends of the pipe cleaners also encourages the development of fine motor skills.

Materials

Instructions

  1. Line the brown or tan pipe cleaners up and twist together at the middle to form an asterisk (*) shape.
  2. Randomly thread red, orange, yellow, and white pony beads on each of the six ends of the pipe cleaners. Leave an inch free at the end of each pipe cleaner.
  3. Twist the tops of the beaded pipe cleaners together at the spot at which the beads end. Trim any excessively long ends.
  4. Display the pony bead Indian corn craft.
