With each holiday of the year, my kids and I enjoy making footprint and handprint crafts together. My daughter and son love putting paint on their hands and feet, and I love creating adorable crafts that lock a little piece of my babies in time. For Thanksgiving this year, my kids and I made turkey handprint-footprint Thanksgiving shirts.

Materials

• Brown, red, orange, yellow, white, and black acrylic paint
• Cotton shirt
• Paper plate or scrap cardboard
• Cotton ball
• Paintbrush

Instructions

1. Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
2. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s palm.
3. Press three red handprints on the center of the shirt.
4. Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
5. Pour some yellow paint onto the cardboard.
6. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of yellow paint on your child’s palm.
7. Press three yellow handprints on top of the red handprints.
8. Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
9. Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
10. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of orange paint on your child’s palm.
11. Press three orange handprints on top of the yellow handprints.
12. Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
13. Pour a small amount of brown paint onto the cardboard.
14. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of paint on the bottom of your child’s foot.
15. Press the footprint into the center of the handprints with the toes pointing down.
16. Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
17. Use a paintbrush to paint two white dots on the heel of the footprint.
18. Use a paintbrush to paint a red S below the two white dots.
19. Use a paintbrush to pant two black dots in the center of the white dots.
20. After the paint dries, toss the shirt in the dryer for 45 minutes. Wash the shirt inside out.
21. Wear the turkey handprint-footprint Thanksgiving shirt!
