Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love adorning my house with all sorts of pretty decorations including wreaths. I also enjoy making my own wreaths. Because I have more than enough wreaths for all the doors in my house, I have begun donating new ones that I make to charitable events. Last year I created a Deco Mesh and Burlap Ribbon Autumn Pumpkin Wreath for a local festival of trees auction. This year I picked up a candy cane-shaped frame and some red, white, and silver ribbon. I also had some leftover mesh tube ribbon from a previous Deco Mesh, Ribbon, and Mesh Tube Christmas Wreath that I used to create a festive candy cane wreath.
Materials
- Metal wire candy cane wreath
- Red and white deco mesh
- Red and white wire-edged ribbon
- Silver wire-edged ribbon
- Silver and red mesh tube ribbon
- Red pipe cleaners
- Red jingle bells
- Scissors
Instructions
- Cut the pipe cleaners into 2-inch pieces.
- Form a loop at one end of the ribbon or deco mesh roll.
- Secure the loop to the wire wreath with a red pipe cleaner.
- Continue securing loops around the outside and inside edge of the wreath. Alternate between the outside and inside.
- Repeat with the other deco mesh, red and white wire-edged ribbon, and silver wire-edged ribbon.
- Fluff up the loops.
- Cut the mesh tube ribbon into 12-inch pieces.
- Gather three pieces of mesh tube together and secure in the middle with a piece of pipe cleaner.
- Secure the bundles of mesh tube around the wreath.
- Secure the jingle bells to the wreath with pieces of pipe cleaner.
- Tie a loop of pipe cleaner to the back of the wreath for a hanger.
- Display the deco mesh, ribbon, and mesh tube candy cane Christmas wreath.
