G is for gorilla! Help your toddler learn about the letter G by making a fun gorilla handprint craft.
Materials
- Black and gray nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some black paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of black paint on your child’s palm.
- Press the black palm print into the top center of the paper.
- Wash the paint off your child’s palm.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of black paint on your child’s hand excluding the thumb.
- Press the black handprint into the paper directly below the palm print with the fingers together and pointing down.
- Wash the paint off your child’s hand.
- Pour some gray paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of gray paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press two gray fingertip prints onto the top of the black palm print and one gray fingertip print into the bottom center of the black palm print. Reapply the paint as needed.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of gray paint on your child’s finger.
- Press the gray fingerprint into the middle of the black handprint.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint a black pupil in the center of the small gray fingertip prints.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “G is for gorilla” in black on the paper.
