My kids and I have been hard at work the past few weeks crafting homemade decorations and gifts for Valentine’s Day. One craft that my daughter really enjoyed making was a heart butterfly because she got to practice her burgeoning cutting skills.
Materials
- Construction paper
- Markers
- Wiggle eyes
- Glue
- Scissors
Instructions
- Cut two large hearts, one small heart, and two tiny hearts from one color of paper.
- Cut two medium hearts from another color of paper.
- Cut six small hearts from another color of paper.
- Glue the small hearts on the medium hearts.
- Glue the medium hearts on the large hearts.
- Glue the larges hearts to the back of a small heart with the points on the inside.
- Glue the five remaining small hearts on a full sheet of paper in a vertical stack starting with the heart with the large hearts second to the top and the heart of a different color on the top.
- Use the black marker to draw two antennae on top of the top heart and a mouth on the bottom front of the top heart.
- Glue the tiny hearts to the ends of the antennae.
- Glue two wiggle eyes above the mouth.
