R is for robin! Help your toddler learn about the letter R by making a fun robin footprint craft.
Materials
- Brown, red, and orange nontoxic paint
- Blank paper
- Paper plate or scrap cardboard
- Cotton ball
- Cotton swab or paintbrush
Instructions
- Pour some brown paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s foot.
- Press the brown footprint into the center of the paper at an angle with the toes pointing down.
- Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
- Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a paintbrush to paint a red belly on the instep of the brown footprint.
- Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
- Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s fingertip.
- Press the orange fingertip print extending from the heel of the brown footprint.
- Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
- Use a paintbrush to paint an orange eye in the center of the brown heel.
- Use a paintbrush to paint two orange robin legs under the footprint and red belly.
- Use a paintbrush to paint “R is for robin” in red on the paper.
