R Is for Robin Footprint Craft

R is for robin! Help your toddler learn about the letter R by making a fun robin footprint craft.

Materials

  • Brown, red, and orange nontoxic paint
  • Blank paper
  • Paper plate or scrap cardboard
  • Cotton ball
  • Cotton swab or paintbrush

Instructions

  1. Pour some brown paint onto the cardboard.
  2. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of brown paint on your child’s foot.
  3. Press the brown footprint into the center of the paper at an angle with the toes pointing down.
  4. Wash the paint off your child’s foot.
  5. Pour some red paint onto the cardboard.
  6. Use a paintbrush to paint a red belly on the instep of the brown footprint.
  7. Pour some orange paint onto the cardboard.
  8. Use a cotton ball to spread a thin layer of red paint on your child’s fingertip.
  9. Press the orange fingertip print extending from the heel of the brown footprint.
  10. Wash the paint off your child’s finger.
  11. Use a paintbrush to paint an orange eye in the center of the brown heel.
  12. Use a paintbrush to paint two orange robin legs under the footprint and red belly.
  13. Use a paintbrush to paint “R is for robin” in red on the paper.
